ZBX selects BoomFi for stablecoin payment infrastructure

MFSA-authorised crypto-asset service provider expands into merchant payments using BoomFi’s modular payments infrastructure

DUBAI, DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Zillion Bits Limited (“ZBX”),a crypto-asset service provider authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 on Markets in Crypto-Assets (“MiCA”), today announced a partnership with BoomFi, a provider of stablecoin and digital-asset payments technology.

The partnership extends ZBX's regulated platform beyond trading and custody into merchant payments, giving businesses across the European Economic Area a single route to accept stablecoin and crypto-asset payments, hold and settle balances in stablecoins or fiat, and make outbound payouts to suppliers, partners and counterparties.

Building this capability in-house would typically require the integration and management of multiple components, including wallet infrastructure, liquidity, transaction screening, Travel Rule compliance, settlement and banking arrangements. BoomFi brings these components together through a modular technology stack, enabling ZBX to accelerate the development and launch of its merchant payments offering while retaining its existing infrastructure and service-provider relationships.

Under the partnership, ZBX intends to offer eligible business clients:

- Pay-in. Merchant payment acceptance in major stablecoins and crypto-assets, through payment links, hosted checkout or direct API integration
- Store. Wallet infrastructure for merchant balances and treasury management, with settlement in stablecoins or fiat
- Pay-out. Functionality supporting outbound payments and disbursements to suppliers, partners and counterparties, where available and subject to applicable regulatory requirements; and
- Reconciliation. Automated reconciliation back into merchants' existing accounting systems

Rather than replacing the infrastructure ZBX has already built, BoomFi’s modular architecture will operate as a technology and orchestration layer across ZBX’s existing wallet provider, liquidity venues and banking arrangements, while providing additional technology components required for the merchant payments proposition.

ZBX will remain responsible for the provision of regulated crypto-asset services falling within the scope of its authorisation. BoomFi acts as a technology provider and does not provide MiCA-regulated crypto-asset services on behalf of ZBX.

"Our clients have been asking us to move beyond trading into payments. Partnering with BoomFi lets us do that without diluting focus on what we do best, which is operating a regulated, fiat-enabled platform for institutions and businesses in Europe. What made the difference was that we kept the infrastructure we had already invested in. BoomFi worked around it rather than asking us to start again, and that turned a multi-year programme into a matter of weeks." - Ian Dawson, CEO, ZBX

"Financial institutions don't want to spend two years building payments infrastructure that was never going to be their core business. They also don't want to tear out systems they've already invested in. ZBX came to us with a wallet provider, liquidity venues and their own banking rails already running. We didn't replace any of that. We orchestrated it, and supplied the pieces that were missing. That's what building the stack modularly is for. An institution keeps the vendor relationships it already has, and still gets a complete pay-in, store and pay-out product in front of merchants in weeks rather than years." - Jack Tang, CEO and co-founder, BoomFi

The service is expected to go live in late September 2026, subject to completion of the necessary implementation and operational readiness requirements.
