Crowd Street Continues Opening Doors to Squash and Financial Literacy at the 2026 Silicon Valley Open

A sponsor for this year’s tournament, Crowd Street is presenting a free FanFest and expanding its financial literacy program to the Bay Area

NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Crowd Street, a private market investment platform providing eligible investors with access to private market investment opportunities, today announced its participation as a sponsor of the 2026 Silicon Valley Open. The tournament is taking place from October 20-24 at Squash Zone in Redwood City, California. Alongside the tournament, Crowd Street is also presenting a free FanFest event for families, and expanding its financial literacy program to SquashDrive and Squash on Track, non-profit after-school youth development programs in the San Francisco Bay Area that combine the sport of squash with academic tutoring, mentoring, and character building.

This latest initiative reinforces Crowd Street’s commitment to helping young people better connect with the sport of squash, and build knowledge and confidence that extend far beyond the court.

The sponsorship is Crowd Street’s newest and fourth addition in expanding access – both to squash and financial confidence – through education and community partnerships. As squash approaches its Olympic debut at the LA28 Olympic Games, the Silicon Valley Open offers an especially exciting opportunity to introduce even more young people to the sport and the possibilities it can create.

“Financial literacy begins with a commitment in local communities, where kids are provided an opportunity to participate in an engaging and educational hands-on setting. That’s what our financial literacy program is designed to do,” said John Imbriglia, CEO of Crowd Street. “That same principle drives Crowd Street to meet an individual investor where he or she is in their personal investment journey, and give them the financial tools and education they need to invest confidently in the private markets.”

A Free Community Welcome to Squash

The free FanFest, presented by Crowd Street, will take place Tuesday, October 20, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Squash Zone. Open to the public, the event will bring children and families together with leading professional players for backyard games, including ping-pong, Jenga, and cornhole.

Top-seeded players are also expected to join families throughout the event, giving young fans a chance to meet athletes up close and in a fun environment. The outdoor fan village, aptly located on “Crowd Street” and completely open to the public, will provide games, concessions, and a welcoming gathering place for all squash fans.

Fans can continue the evening with women’s and men’s opening-round professional squash matches on the Squash Engine All-Glass Court, providing new fans an accessible opportunity to experience professional squash.

Building Confidence Beyond the Court

During the tournament, Crowd Street will introduce its latest financial literacy programming for Bay Area youth through partnerships with SquashDrive and Squash on Track. SquashDrive enables East Bay students to reach their full academic, athletic, and personal potential through an integrated program of academic tutoring, squash instruction, and character building. Squash on Track is a non-profit after school enrichment program that aims to improve the lives of Redwood City youth by learning how to play squash, receiving academic and other support tailored to their needs, and becoming part of a supportive community.

The addition builds on Crowd Street’s previous partnerships with StreetSquash, CitySquash, and the Squash Education Alliance in New York City, followed by expansions with Steel City Squash in Pittsburgh and SquashBusters in Boston. The initiative pairs the support of squash-based youth development organizations with practical personal finance education.

Based on the Next Gen Personal Finance curriculum, Crowd Street’s program introduces middle and high school students to everyday financial decisions, including managing bank accounts, budgeting, understanding credit and debt, and the fundamentals of responsible investing. Lessons are adapted to students’ ages and experience, helping make financial concepts approachable and relevant to their lives.

Bringing Olympic Excitement to the Next Generation of Fans

The Silicon Valley Open’s international field includes Peru’s Diego Elias (World No. 3), Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini (World No. 3), and American Olivia Weaver (U.S. No. 1 and World No. 4), based on U.S. Squash and PSA World Rankings, respectively, as of October 2026. With five top-10 players in each draw, the tournament will give families an opportunity to experience elite squash close to home as excitement builds toward LA28. The tournament will feature 24 women and 24 men representing 14 countries and territories, competing for $260,000 in equal prize money on the Squash Engine Glass Court.

For young people discovering squash for the first time, the tournament and FanFest offer a personal connection to a sport preparing to reach a new global audience. Crowd Street’s participation aims to turn that excitement into opportunities to learn, connect, and imagine their own futures.

Opening-round play begins Tuesday, October 20, with the Round of 16 and quarterfinals continuing throughout the week. The semifinals will be held Friday, October 23, with the men’s and women’s finals on Saturday, October 24. Matches will also be available to audiences around the world on SquashTV.

“Crowd Street’s partnership perfectly aligns with our mission to make the Silicon Valley Open, and the sport of squash, a welcoming place for Bay Area youth and their families,” said John Nimick, President of Squash Engine and Event Producer of the Silicon Valley Open. “Through the free FanFest and its financial literacy program, Crowd Street is giving the students the incredible opportunity to connect with world-class athletes, while also building practical financial skills for greater independence. As we look ahead to squash’s Olympic debut at LA28, we’re proud to have a partner equally committed to helping young people gain confidence and see new possibilities for themselves.”
